It seems I have once again let time slip away between posts and need to play a little (or a lot if we're honest) catch up. It has definitely been busy around our house, but we've had a lot of fun too and in the midst of it all our little Jack turned 18 months old! How has it gone so fast??
So, first off - the new stats! Jack at 18 months -
- 32.5 Inches - That's 2 ft, 8.5 big boy inches!
- 22.8 lbs
What is Jack up to these days? Well, just ask him he'll tell ya! He is talking and talking and talking .... during our trip to the Dr. the literature they give you about their development milestones and the guidelines say that Jack should be saying at least 4 words. Well, let me tell you that honestly Jack says at least 104 words - he chatters non stop and you can actually understand him. During our visit, the Dr. said that his language skills are off the charts which of course I am very proud of even though I know that each child develops at their own pace and it's really not a sign of anything spectacular (except the fact that he's obviously gifted and destined for greatness - but whatever). But seriously, I am so glad that he seems to be tracking well and it's so much fun to see when the little lightbulb goes on in his head and he gets something new. But I have to be honest that Scott and I have our share of lightulb moments ourselves just realizing how much he absorbs from the world around him.
Now that the weather is breaking we are getting oustide as much as we can - but let me tell you it is not often enough for Jack. I believe he would live outside if he could, which I am happy about but I just need to help him understand that we don't have to hit the yard the actual moment after we get out of bed! We've taken advantage of some of our weekend time together lately with trips to the zoo, the petting farm near our home and Kings Island! Jack seems to be a big fan of the carousel and tells everyone that he rode the Zebra, but his absolute favorite thing is riding the choo choo train - a thrill for sure. Grandma went with us last weekend to the zoo and we had a great time seeing all the animals and loved all the beautiful flowers too.
