So, it's been crazy busy around our house lately so I have been more focused on actually spending time with Jack when I have a spare moment rather than recording how we spend those moments. So, once again I find myself in need to catching up. So, I'll try to hit the highlights.
Today - Earth Day, 2008 -
Jack and I celebrated by spending some time with Daddy and Putter in the yard enjoying a beautiful Spring day on our little piece earth this afternoon after work. I believe Jack would live outside if he could - he absolutely loves running around, touching the trees and thowing his ball. Today, Daddy helped him discover ants and he was fascinated. He kept trying to chase them and asking "where go" when they'd scurry off into the mulch. As we were getting him ready for bed, a little bunny was sitting outside his bedroom window which I thought was a pretty great way to end Earth Day - he was so excited and kept calling for the bunny with his nose pressed to the window until it hopped off. He thought that was great.
Speaking of Earth Day - I have been thinking more "green" lately - who hasn't right. I've been trying to be more concious of the waste that our household generates (too much) and some little things that we can do to be kinder to the planet. As a mother, my awareness has become heightened because I do worry about the state of the planet that Jack and his friends & cousins will inherit. Scott thinks I'm crazy but I figure every little bit we can do is something right. So, I am trying to be more diligent about recycling EVERYTHING and I invested in my cloth shopping bags, which I have managed to keep in the car, but need to get better about actually taking them in the store - I've caught myself at the checkout twice without the bags and having to take the plastic alternative anyway - oh well, baby steps, right.
