Trick or Treat

Tonight was Jack's first Trick or Treat (see adorable pics) - Of course he was around last Halloween but he was just a peanut then so he didn't score any candy. This year he was all over it - well, he at least let us stuff him in a chicken costume, strap him to his wagon and parade him through the neighborhood so WE could score candy. Yes, it's a bit shameless to exploit your child for chocolate, but hey, there are people in my neighborhood who give full size candy bars - come on now, who wouldn't use their kid to get a whole Snickers. And to make it seem a bit less shameless we conned the neighbor girls to walk with us so we looked a little more respectable.

So, the costume actually was a bit confusing b/c he looked like a duck with chicken feet, and it didn't help that the only animal sound Jack can make is the monkey sound, so we had a little chicken/duck that went "Ooh Ooh Ooh". I'm pretty sure he was the most talented and adorable kid in the neighborhood though.

It was a lot of fun. It's true what they say about kids letting you be a kid again. I have never been a big fan of Halloween, but somehow this year it was more fun than I ever remember. Of course Grandma was there to pass out candy while we strolled and Uncle Doug stopped by to see our little chik-a-dee too.
